Barb Stephens is the Head of Talent and Internal Communication at Sovereign Insurance, where she promotes and elevates the organization’s vibrant and dynamic corporate culture, talent strategy, and employee experience.  

With almost 25 years in the insurance industry, Barb has held diverse leadership roles focused on change, communication, and innovation strategies that deliver organizational success. Since joining Sovereign in 2022, Barb’s focused on building high-performing, engaged teams, collaborative and inclusive workplaces, and purpose-driven impact.

Barb has a communication degree from Simon Fraser University, is accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators, and has certificates in facilitative leadership, innovation, organizational design, mental health leadership, and indigenous studies. Outside of work, Barb likes traveling and exploring off the beaten path, being outside and on the water, and spending time with her family and friends.
